Through a series of formal and informal interviews conducted over the past few months, along with narrative information gleaned through years of close relationships, the stories in this project explore the complex and rich narratives of Bangladeshi American women. The four women in this exhibit are close friends. Despite this, they lead very different lives. The researcher, Navipa Zaman, aims to explore these differences through the lens of social, political, and economic contexts. Having been privy to information and stories for decades as the daughter of one of these women, she retains a unique insight into their lives. They have watched her grow up; she has watched them grow older. For Navipa, it has truly been a privilege to help share their stories and elevate their voices.
